Warn acquires innovative recovery equipment manufacturer Factor 55.
Warn Industries, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of vehicle winches and other recovery equipment, recently acquired Factor 55, a manufacturer of hardware for Closed System Winching which is a winching technique using rigging comprised entirely of closed-link hardware.
Warn says there are synergies between the two companies in that both are considered premium brands in vehicle recovery. While Warn manufactures vehicle winches and products such as hub locks, Factor 55 manufactures recovery equipment including winch line and splice-on shackles, fairleads, pulleys, vehicle recovery kits and bags, recovery straps, rope and other specialty products.
Kyle Shiminski, Vice President & General Manager of Warn Industries, said, “Given their premium brand, experienced engineering design capabilities, and specialisation in Closed System Winching products, we feel strongly about the complementary nature of the Factor 55 product offering and realising the benefits this partnership brings.”
Factor 55 was founded in 2012 by Michael Costa, who will continue with the company under Warn. “We are excited to be part of the Warn Industries family, joining forces with a company with a rich history of market leadership, innovation, and a highly-recognised, premium brand,” Costa said. “We are very proud of what we have accomplished over these eight-plus years at Factor 55, and partnering with another premium brand where our products accompany one another so well is a great feeling.
“Our team will maintain their focus on designing and introducing the high-level of product ingenuity Factor 55 customers have grown accustomed to. We look forward to continuing that tradition in addition to drawing upon resources available as part of Warn Industries,” Costa said.
In Australia Warn is distributed by Ateco Equipment and ARB 4×4 Accessories.
