It seems Redarc has a solution for nearly everything electrical, and this latest release is for those charging large-capacity (or multiple) battery banks. The BCDC1240D is a 40-Amp charger, which features dual input and is designed especially to deal with the high loads experienced while dealing with demanding battery systems. It can be used with both 12-volt and 24-volt applications, and will work with both standard and modern variable-voltage smart alternators. As lithium batteries are becoming more popular with four-wheel drivers and camping enthusiasts, the new BCDC1240D has a built-in charging profile to suit; as well as the ability to charge AGM, GEL, standard lead-acid and calcium batteries. Protection against reverse polarity, voltage spikes and overheating comes standard, and Redarc mentions the BCDC1240D is covered by a two-year warranty for peace of mind.
