BCF moves into 4WD fitment with first workshop in Perth
BCF has launched its first professional 4WD fitment service in Perth, with plans to expand the concept to at least 50 stores across Australia.

BCF has opened its first professional 4WD fitment service at its Cannington store in Perth, with plans to eventually roll the concept out to at least 50 locations across Australia.
The move takes BCF beyond simply selling 4WD and touring accessories, allowing customers to purchase equipment and have it professionally installed at the same location. The Cannington pilot can fit a range of gear including bullbars, suspension and GVM upgrades, lighting and electrical systems, as well as roof and touring equipment.
BCF has partnered with Ironman 4×4 for the service, with professional installation specialists carrying out the work in a dedicated workshop space at the store. For customers, the process starts with an in-store consultation and quote before the product is purchased and an installation time booked.
Why BCF is moving further into 4WD
While Cannington is currently the only BCF offering the service, the retailer says the Western Australian workshop is the first pilot site under plans to establish at least 50 4WD fitment locations around Australia. That ambition was also outlined by parent company Super Retail Group during its June 2026 Investor Day, where 4WD fitment was identified as one of BCF’s future growth opportunities.
Moving into fitment potentially allows BCF to expand further into product categories that are difficult to sell as standalone, off-the-shelf purchases.
BCF Managing Director Michael Wassman said categories such as suspension, snorkels and electrical systems were examples of products requiring professional installation.
“The introduction of professional fitment services will transform BCF into a true full solution specialist, giving Australian 4×4 enthusiasts exactly what they’ve been asking for,” Wassman said.
“This strategic shift will open up new categories and product specialisations for BCF, like suspension, snorkels and electrical systems, all of which require professional fitment.”
Why Perth gets the first workshop
According to BCF, Cannington was selected for the pilot due to strong demand for 4WDs and accessories in Perth, along with the city’s proximity to off-road destinations.
“We know how passionate our 4WD customers in Perth are about kitting out their vehicles with the best equipment to power their weekends camping, touring and going off-road,” Wassman said.
“We are excited to now be able to offer them a one-stop destination for both premium accessories and professional installation, with the advice they trust from their local BCF team.”
The Cannington location is also one of BCF’s newer superstores, a format the company has been expanding as part of its broader retail strategy.
A significant move into the 4WD aftermarket
For the Australian 4WD industry, BCF’s expansion into fitment is potentially more significant than the opening of a single workshop. BCF already has an established national retail presence and a large customer base across camping, fishing, boating and outdoor recreation. Adding professional fitment puts the retailer more directly into a part of the 4WD aftermarket traditionally serviced by specialist accessory and mechanical workshops.
The partnership with Ironman 4×4 means BCF isn’t attempting to build that technical capability from scratch at its first location. Instead, the Cannington pilot combines BCF’s retail operation with an experienced 4WD fitment provider.
Whether the concept ultimately reaches the planned 50-plus locations will depend on how the rollout develops, but BCF has made its intentions in the 4WD market clear. For now, customers can book fitment services in-store at BCF Cannington, with a consultation and quote provided before purchasing products and arranging installation.
