Rhino-Rack has been awarded the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 for its innovative Pioneer Platform and nifty Stow It device.
Aussie roof-rack manufacturer Rhino-Rack has picked up the internationally recognised ‘Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021’ for its Pioneer Platform and Stow It lockable shovel holder. The Red Dot is a seal that is given to products that feature an outstanding design.
The Red Dot Award is broken down into three disciplines – the ‘Red Dot Award: Product Design’, ‘Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design’ and ‘Red Dot Award: Design Concept’. The award dates back to 1955, with the first annual design competition being run at an exhibition in Essen, Germany. A jury of individual specialists evaluate the entries in each of the disciplines and the award-winning designs are presented in the Red Dot Design Museums, in an online presentation and in the Red Dot Design Yearbook.
This year, Rhino-Rack entered its flagship All-New Pioneer Platform and new accessory product, the Stow It. Both received an award in the ‘Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021’. Rhino-Rack says the award is a great recognition and well-earned reflection of the amazing work performed by its Engineering and Product team.
The Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform features a lightweight modular design and it’s made from high strength aluminium with fibreglass reinforced nylon corners. It can be infinitely adjusted and fitted to a multitude of vehicles without requiring modification. It also features included wiring and accessory channels that allow for a cleaner and safer installation of accessories.
The Rhino-Rack Stow It is a utility holder designed to provide a secure load carrying solution for shovels, spades, paddles, axes, fishing rods and more. It is compatible with Pioneer Platforms, and Vortex and Heavy Duty Cross Bars, and features a spring-loaded quick lock and release mechanism that makes it one of the easiest to use lockable storage products on the market.
