Considering the amount of tools and gear we have in our 4X4s, the humble Leatherman is something worthy of a spot in your door map pocket. Quickly accessible, easy to find (and no need to pull the back of your rig apart looking for a pair of pliers), they’re a great bit of kit to have on hand. Leatherman has just released its newest offering: The Signal. It’s a good all-round survival bit of equipment to have near to hand should you need it. It’s got the usual pliers and wire cutters/strippers, knives and saws, a hammer, and screwdrivers. The genius part is that it’s got a whistle, a broadhead sharpener, and a ferrocerium rod for making a fire. Worth having in the 4X4 for ‘just in case’.
