According the ACCC recall notice, the fault could result in an increased risk of vehicle fire, which may cause an accident or injury to the vehicle occupants, other road users or property damage.

Owners of affected vehicles, of which there are 438 in total, will be notified by mail and are advised to contact their local authorised RAM Truck dealer to have the repair work carried out free of charge.

The RAM 1500 has proven to be very popular with Australian buyers, and the Express variant bucked the trend for negative sales growth in the April 2020 VFACTS sales figures released yesterday. The RAM 1500 Express recorded 105 sales in April 2020, which was up an impressive 101.9 per cent on April 2019. Sales of the RAM 1500 Laramie in April 2020 (73 units) were down slightly on the April 2019 (by 13.1 per cent), but this still compared favourably with overall 4×4 ute sales for the month which were down a staggering 39.2 per cent on April 2019.
